Flygt

In 1922 Swedish engineer Hilding Flygt started a sales company marketing his Flygt pumps for domestic water and heating. The Flygt firm went on to develop a prototype for the first submersible drainage pump, also called the B pump. It revolutionized the mining and construction industries. Years later, in 1999, N pump technology caused another revolution with a non-clogging impeller and reduced energy consumption.

In addition to submersible pump products, the current Flygt range comprises mixers and mechanical aeration equipment used in environments ranging from water and wastewater treatment; raw water supply; abrasive or contaminated industrial processes; mining and construction as well as irrigation. The company was absorbed by ITT in 1968.
