Leopold
Since 1924 the Leopold brand has been synonymous with “rapid gravity media filtration”: wastewater is passed through a porous medium to remove suspended solids, permitting its reuse for potable and process purposes. Leopold media filtration systems at municipal wastewater treatment plants are typically utilized toward the end of the treatment process.
Leopold offers a wide range of systems and equipment that reflect leadership and expertise in filtration technology. The Leopold high-rate Clari-DAF system is the obvious clarification technology for removing low density solids, and also for pretreatment of membranes to prevent clogging.
Leopold filtration technologies can be bundled with pumps and aeration systems to assist utility operators in meeting mandated discharge requirements; customers are mainly municipal authorities. The Leopold business was acquired by ITT in 2006.
